Have You "Plaid" Your Weekend Yet?

Have you planned your weekend yet?

Let's PLAID it out!

With Spence and Lane's new fall line that just dropped last Thursday, to their new arrivals every Thursday, you can't help but to add a few goodies to your closet for this upcoming season. Say goodbye to summer and hello to fall. Tomorrow is the big day!

Fall is upon us, here in the Northern Hemisphere.
Cheers to the early nights and considerably cooler weather!
Watching the trees turn from a uniform green to all varieties of gold, yellow, and red is the beauty fall brings. How can it be that all this beauty is a sign of death and decay? It is certain that the changing of colors foreshadow a bitterness cold, with or without snow. Fall isn’t just a change in the weather, a change in your wardrobe, there’s countless changes unknown. It's not the Friday night lights, the Saturday tailgates, the Sunday mornings where you skip church or whatever it is you do. Actually, it is. FALL is all about the football games, tailgate parties, the mornings where it's too cold to roll out of bed. It's that time of the year where the weight is put on, but it's not shown. Fall is all about layers upon layers, rather it's your covers or your clothes, you choose. But, how do you "plaid" your weekend? Do you go to the fall carnivals, tailgate at your local universities, walk trails, have bonfires, what is it you do? Whatever you do, Spence and Lane has you covered. Rather you want to spend your weekend tailgating, having nights out, hunting, camping, casual date nights, whatever fall festivities you do, I have a few outfit ideas PLAIDED (planned) out for YOU!

From plain to plaid-ful, Spence and Lane has you covered!
If you aren't ready to pack up your maxi dresses, transition them into your fall wardrobe with a little splash of plaid, rather it be a flannel or just a kimono, either will work!
Like what you see? Check each item out: It's All About That Fur, Meet Me on Plaid Avenue, Be My Plaid Kimono, and the Magnificent Maxi Dress

Not too fond of the plaid, faux fur or maxi dress combination? How about a little game day appi-tease.
Like something simple and flowy? Try this AWWWBURN top and Faux Fur Vest (link listed in previous outfit)
Still not ready to hide your skin? Try this polka-dotted skirt that's to die for (definitely need this in my closet) and add a little southern mess tank to complete the look. Don't forget to take a cardigan for the late night air.
P.S, the tank is on sale! Catch it before it's too late.

XOXO,
Chels

"Fallin" in Love With New Arrivals

Fall is great for layering clothes. Get dressed in your favorite dress or t-shirt (short or long sleeve) and grab a statement necklace. Layer up with a lightweight jacket, vest, kimono or cardigan. Throw on your favorite scarf and pair of boots or booties and you will make a simple outfit fabulous. Throughout the day while the temps are rising you can remove some of your layers but by having a statement necklace on that will still complete your look and making it your focal point.

While browsing through new arrivals at SpenceandLane.com Kelsey and I came across a few must haves for this upcoming season! Transitioning into fall doesn't have to be a difficult situation, you do not have to be miserable in your clothes because you want to dress with the season. In order to help you out, we've pulled together a few outfits that we thought would best fit the season, until the weather changes.

This outfit features three items from SpenceandLane.com. Kimono's are simple and chic, you can always feel comfortable with a coverup that hides those blemishes or cover your bottom when leggings don't meet dress code. In our opinion, Kimono's do not mix well with scarves, they seem to have to much of a flow, they aren't as fitted as a cardigan. That's why we've paired the Dandelion Kimono with Denim Leggings and a Feathered Hat

If you're looking for something to transition into the fall with check out SpenceandLane.com and order this outfit for less than $100.00. Even if you aren't into hats, the kimono and denim leggings are a hit for the season and are less than $30.00 each. Pair it with an olive top and voilĂ
there you have it.

xoxo,

of course there's no telling what
I'm doing with my hand.

As the temperature changes it has us eagerly waiting on the fall festivities slowly approaching. Yes, I’m talking about the late night cuddle sessions in the bed of the truck or on the trampoline, under a cover or two. Even the bonfires, carnivals, pumpkin patches, haunted houses, those Sunday mornings where you just stay cozy in bed with a good book. We’ve all dreamt of those moments once or twice throughout summer, when we’re complaining about the raging heat. Although, the autumnal equinox is on the horizon, it’s still a bit warm out by midday. We can’t help but be excited about transitioning into our flannels, sweaters, vests, and scarves. But before  you get the urge to pack all your summer clothes away, keep reading for some tips and tricks on how to take your summer statements into the fall season

Fall is one of our favorite seasons, with that being said we have a tremendous amount of clothing that is essential for milder temperatures. Items that we think are essential for fall are: booties, boots, converse, flats, boot cuffs, leggings, denim jeans, skirts, blazers, faux fur vest, plaid shirts, plaid kimonos (might we mention SpenceandLane boutique have some in-stock), scarves, over-sized sweaters, oversized cardigans, clutch purses, and simple dresses. Many trends are in this fall and most include: stripes, plaid, solid colors (olive green, mustard yellow, burgundy, burnt orange, navy blue, off whites, wine..etc.), denim, fringe, suede, leopard print, and faux fur.

Previously mentioned: Fall is approaching quickly and milder temperatures are on the rise. Over the weekend we decided to take fall pictures.. but there was a problem. What were we going to wear? As we rummaged through our closet we pulled out plaid shirts, striped dresses, body-con dresses and some kimonos but the question we were left with is how are we going to make an outfit out of these pieces? By taking some of the biggest trends (stripes and plaid) this fall we made one outfit. Although it was still warm out we took a casual striped t-shirt dress and paired it with a plaid flannel by tying it around my waist. To make the finishing touches I added a pair of white converse. As the temperatures began to drop throughout the night I untied the flannel from my waist and wore it over the dress, which was still a big hit! This is a great way to look simple and chic at a bonfire, without going overboard.

TRANSITIONS FROM SUMMER TO FALL

TRANSITIONS
FROM SUMMER TO FALL
light breeze, colorful leaves, bare trees, transitions please.

Fashion Transitions:

We’re halfway through the month of September. The Autumnal Equinox is just days away. Although, it is still hot out, there are ways to transition into that seasonal change. The desire to to dress in pieces that prelude the season is a must. We all have that familiar desire, it’s not just you! Perhaps it's the changing in the scenery; the leaves are changing colors and leaving the trees bare. Those autumnal shades just pop with the outdoors and you cannot resist the urge to try on your statement pieces. The morning time is great for your lightweight scarf and your cognac boots, but by midday you are wanting to strip. But, I just want to leave you with a few helpful tips.
